Two of my longterm favorite interests in history are hosted here.
The first comes from my fascination with a good mystery story, and the disappearance of the dinosaurs has to be one of the biggest mysteries of all time. The current theories point to the Cretaceous-Tertiary (K-T) boundary event which caused the extinction of the dinosaurs (as well as myriad other species) as being an extraterrestrial object (comet/meteor) hitting the Yucatan Peninsula in the Gulf of Mexico. K-T
The second comes initially from my travels in the Ardenne Forest during the late 1960's when I was actually able to be at the locations of WWII's Battle of the Bulge (also known as the Von Runstadt Offensive) during several winters. This piqued my interest, since I was able to clearly imagine what the participants on both sides were seeing and feeling. Bulge
